Split Mechanical Seal

The split mechanical seal is divided into two halves, which can be installed or replaced without removing the pump or engine. This is an effective solution for large equipment, difficult to disassemble or need to reduce downtime.

Structure

The seal consists of two halves of the static and dynamic seal face, gasket and metal parts assembled around the shaft. The joints are designed to achieve the flatness and sealing of the solid seal.

• The seal face must be kept absolutely clean during installation.

Correct installation

Check the shaft's runout and eccentricity, clean the shaft, assemble the two halves according to the instructions, tighten the bolts evenly before removing the positioning clamp. After installation, fill the fluid fully before running.

Lifecycle cost

The purchase price may be higher than that of ordinary seals, but it saves downtime and labor costs, so it is often beneficial in terms of total lifecycle cost for large equipment.
